All right here we go. Whats the MOST important thing you can do to prepare for a worst case scenario? BE FIT! If you have a serious illness or are medication dependant you're chances for survival decrease exponentionally. If you are morbidly obese and out of shape you don't stand the same chance as someone who is fit. GET IN SHAPE! The term "Survival of the Fittest" was not coined accidently...it's a fact. Start walking, build up to a jog and when you can go at least for a mile you'll be on your way. In a SHTF scenario too many people focus on the cool guns and crap they see on TV and forget the basics.
You won't get far carrying around unneccesary weight. Factor in a back pack full of your bug out gear and guess what? When you drop dead from the heart attack, we're dividing up your shit!
Get in shape stay in shape and be ready.
I see way too many "preppers" that look like this guy above and in all seriousness, you have to spend LESS time on "cheaperthandirt.com" and MORE time out on the trails and in the gym.
The British Special Forces have a saying " Death is Nature's way of saying you have FAILED selection". So True.
